Words are still Words

Words are still Words,

whether you say I’m Happy To Be Here, or

reassure a crying friend with It’s Okay. When

the retail worker tells you to Have A Nice Day,

or a teacher saying Great Job after handing back

your fully correct test.

Words are still Words,

when your brother calls you a whore, or

you’re coldly told by an adult that You’re A

Disappointment. When your friend refers to

you as Fat, or you look in the mirror, seeing

your Gross, Ugly reflection.

Words are still Words,

no matter if they are

Band-Aids or Bullets.
