Identity isn’t the way people see you

It’s the way you see yourself

Identity isn’t who you want to be

But who you are when you’re alone

We are all clueless people trying to find ourselves

In a world of other lost people

My identity isn’t who people say I am

It’s who I aspire to be

Who I really am is a lost soul trying to find my way around this place

Who I really am is a regular freshman girl who’s scared of the future

Who I really am is someone who just wants to be told they’re beautiful

Who I really am is someone who hides their vulnerability

Who I really am is someone who just needs reassurance

Who I really am is a selfless person who lost themselves trying to help people find themselves

I am not perfect

But I am me
