Real Love

That night,

all I knew was pain.

Like needles piercing my soft

skin, tears rolling down my face.

Sobs echoed in my room

as I thought that I could never

be loved again.

This is where I found

real love.

Kindness in my friend

who called me from work

and listened to me cry

in the bathroom of a

restaurant.

Trust in a girl

who was already getting

in her car

the second she saw

my call.

And my family

who sat with me for

hours,

while I tried to figure out

what I did to deserve

this message.

Maybe in another world

we could have found

real love together.

But in ending

what we had,

I realized

who I could

truly rely on.
