Lion's Tooth

I would spend a lifetime waiting

for you. Swaying in a sea of yellow —

my hollow stem keeps me afloat.

Among the monotonous field of flowers I stand taller.

I've won the race for pappus.

Dressed in white I bear my seeds,

My finest linens

Vulnerable to the wind I wait for you.

In the warm sun I yearn.

Hold me to your lips — wish upon me.
