Kaleidoscope

The world is a kaleidoscope

filled with eight billion people.

Each pair of eyes a lens

viewing abstract beauties of the earth.

No two lives are the same.

Like one's fingerprint —

a loop, a whorl, or an arch

identified by the pitch black ink.

Everything varies slightly.

The world is ever changing.

Like playful childhood memories

turning into laughter with future roommates.

Or washed denim jackets

becoming worn in baggy sweatshirts.

One's actions affect the world.

Like the wind removing a leaf

from its once stable home.

Or the sun melting the first

snowfall to stay on the ground.

Search the kaleidoscope.

Discover new reflective angles.

Find something original,

something you have yet to see.
