juniper love

I don't love the way we used to love anymore

So i untwisted you from my blood red arteries,

Disconnecting you from the intricate passage to my heart.

But sometimes i remember your

Infatuation with the leaves

And how you breathed green in

Whenever possible

And how juniper flowed from each step you took

And it's then that my heart stops.

Now, broken branches block access

To lanes we used to frequent.

Context becomes convoluted

Cluttering our old ecosystem.

But when feelings fade

Clarity allows closure

And thank God for closure.
