Stock after stock,

push after push,

shelf after shelf.

Empty shelves renewed of their toys;

Kids and adults sweeping them away,

toying these plastic objects

which bring so much joy.

My eyes dance around the store

capturing details, turning my head.

My legs walking forward past each aisle.

An object in motion stays in motion,

except when my steps swiftly slow to a stop

and rewind as my eyes take note

of this familiar bright white lettering,

spotlighting off the dark cloth background.

His eyes lit up with joy

as my compliment reached his ears,

and I continued my forward movement

unknowingly setting a new path in motion.
