Good Damage

That life had a purpose for me.

That all the Damage it’s given me

It made me stronger.

I was a vase that broke

And put back together again.

Even more beautiful than before.

I kept searching for that purpose,

But I found nothing.

Then I kept searching—

I found nothing.

And then I kept searching

And still— nothing.

I thought past all that nothing

There had to be something,

But there was nothing.

All the Damage done to me

wasn’t Good Damage,

It was just damage,

And I’m stronger for knowing that.
