Fool’s Pursuit
I have burned my flesh and
and broken my brittle bones and
carried the derision of seven earths.
I have scorned.
But what is this scorn
if not the fool’s pursuit?
Alas, what am I
if not the fool who has fallen
to prey to ideals of futility
and allowed it to deride
any and all significance.
Yet, I know
when the brumal nights disappear,
and are replaced with the
sober-minded dawn,
I will subdue my ignorance
for I am not more a burden
then I can bear myself.
