I remember–

When the days of the week were dragging like a veil on a aisle,

Now hasty hours seem to fly by like a bouquet.

I remember–

When you would laugh at my jokes like you meant it.

Smile like there was something in the world to be proud about.

I remember when it was only you and I.

My pigtails  bouncing like bunny tails

My little hands interlaced with yours.

I remember–

When I was your little girl.

Nowadays I find myself chasing after time like a lion feening for its prey.

Yearning for my little hands to return.

Only to realize I'm left with arthritis rushing through my bones.

Responsibilities I once wished for on days you pissed me off.

So no more dancing like no one's watching,

I have to do it right cause all eyes are on me.

I remember–

I am a big girl now, i'm all alone.

Although you've got a woman and family to call your own.
