Broken At Sea

At times, I am the anchor that sinks to the bottom—

Keeping you stabilized and calm.

Your waves and your wind are what make it rough.

Why can’t you be the boat—

Bringing excitement and movement.

You never asked me to be the anchor.

But your waves were still—

And I became that grounding.

The minute it thundered,

Your waves became angry and full of hatred

As if a tsunami came crashing down—

In control of everything around it.

I desire to be the fish unbothered by the surface,

I yearn to be that anchor for you—

Stabilized and safe..
