Lily Robert
Working
Throwing a dead cat into a freezer,
cleaning the blood off my shoes,
getting stitched up at Syosset Hospital.
Leaving an old house for a new.
Worshipping a god I don’t know,
working late without food.
Feeling the breeze of a warm winter,
cold comes and chokes the flowers.
Bald heads in the monastery
in the land where no one goes.
