Hope
Click, click, beep, beep the heart monitor rang notifying me that I was still alive
my body beaten and war torn from the inside
shriveled and broken I lay in what could have been my casket
waiting for the big man in the white coat to come and pierce my flesh
to add another hole onto my arm
while telling me everything was gonna be okay
I waited for even the slightest glimmer of hope
waiting for my white blood cells to rally and to defeat the invader that has been killing me or finally let go and say goodbye for the final time.
