There we stood, shoulder to shoulder, on the upper level of the boat while our peers were enjoying the celebration below deck. Her crossed and goosebump-covered arms indicate that she was beginning to succumb to the cool, night air of the harbor, but she does not leave my side to go indoors. I regret leaving my warm sweatshirt on the bus ashore. We gaze at the miraculous, mirror-esque display of the nearby city before us, which ignites the waterway with a seemingly infinite number of luminescent orbs of light, as we ourselves silently reflect on our past and future together.
