Despair

Despair is a monster that feeds

off of the dying leaves,

The ones who have fallen from the tree

of Hope

with its decaying apples of opportunity

and leaves so bleak, tainited with impurity.

At the bottom Despair

lurks in the shadows

Stalking, waiting for

the tiny green buds that dare blossom.
