The Mirror

It only sees the

Discontinued dry knees,

Unloved love handles,

Bare, bruised collarbones,

And my unveiled curly hair.

The mirror did not reflect over

The bike rides with punctured tires,

The missing meals and glasses of water, and

The glass thrown at me by therapy.

Finger combinations to trigger key combinations to

Self-esteem complications,

My true essence is

Unfound.

You,

You are a mirror,

You only see, what I

Will not be.

You only see the

Melanin, connect the dots,

Life-long scars, series of undone thoughts.

But even the mirror cannot capture

My full reflection.
